Thomas Jefferson Bronze Indian Peace Medal
Author of the Declaration of Independence, and the third President of the United States of America, Thomas Jefferson was responsible for more than doubling the size of the country when he purchased the Louisiana Purchase from France (which Napoleon needed to sell to fund his continental wars).
This is a reproduction of actual Indian Peace Medals made by the United States Mint that were given out to Indian chiefs by American representatives, starting with Lewis & Clark and continuing until Andrew Johnson when they simply became Presidential Medals. The medals would bear the face of the current President and then be replaced by the incumbent and so on.
